Killing dancer as sl 40 with +4 weapon
How do you do it? Shes ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ unpredictable -she can walk around and do nothing for 10 seconds or she can attack with long combos non stop. I dont want to beat entire game in order to get moonlight sword.

As with every other boss: watch her moves. Or you can use dark magic. Or buffed bow. Or whatever else that keeps you in a distance from her.

She has 50 moves, and all of them are non stop blender attacks that cover half of the room. Only thing i learned so far- is to never roll away from her. Unless she specifically doing that aoe thing with a sword into the ground. I hate this boss so much. You wait until she starts attacking so you can roll and retaliate- instead she will be WALKING for 10 seconds straight. You decide to attack- she immidiatly starts to do her blender of death thing.

I tried bleeding her out with heavy reinfored club +4 - range is pathetic, bleed build up too.

i beat dancer as sl1

the guy above is correct, keeping your distance is the best tactic. i killed her with a crossbow on my sl1 run

Crossbow does no damage. Even arbalest at +3. And she has a slip profile and constatly moves around - bolts miss all the time.

I killed that ♥♥♥♥. I used zweinhander +4 on first phase and arbalest +3 on 2nd. 2nd phase was very long and tedious.

I beatedn Ocerios in 1st try with no phatoms. Thats how much bs Dancer really is.

Well 40+4 is not really low for dancer, but apart from that the key is to run back from her in phase 2 unless you see her doing attacks that you can immediately punish (like dual up-swing).

Her combos are only dangerous if you try to dodge around her, retreat and you and punish her catching-up attempt. She does not have any good chasing moves.
:praisesun: don't let the darkness consume you.

imo real bs is pontiff. i play without phantoms too and i think hes the hardest boss in entire game. hes like that fume knight from ds2 with bs non stop attacks

Pontiff is more predictable.

A better strategy is a dark hand, high hp and a 100% physical block shield. Hug her butt and spam punch her. Leave just enough stamina to dodge and block. More often than not, she'll be staggered after a few strikes. Simply block and dodge when necessary. It's that simple. You could take a level 10 deprived with pure vigor and punch her to death. 3 people with
Raw +1 maces and that same shield could stagger her into oblivion.

The mace is a deceptively dangerous weapon with it's high pure physical damage (with raw infusion +1) and ability to buff for unstaggerable poise. Roll catching is also a benefit to using the mace. Using a mace is a solid strategy for almost any build. Dark Hand is useful too for both mobs and catching people with the special attack. It's saved me more times that I can count. Try r1 too much and that's a great way to be parried though. It's split damage is also mostly worthless on people with higher defense and hp unless you use R2

Put all of your points into HP and bring a deep broadsword or some good DPS raw weapon + dark bundle. Always follow her rear. You probably won't be able to dodge the quick overhead + slash attack so try to predict it. If you have 1000+ HP without embers then it won't be that hard anyway.
The reason why dancer is hard at lower levels is because the speed of her attacks vary greatly and some of them actually create a true combo, like the quick overhead I mentioned.

You deal more damage with a dark hand with a lower level than a higher level with more points invested. It's usually 170+ with many more swings. This means that you have more stamina for dodging and blocking. You really can't beat the dark hand unless you've leveled the right stats to deal a ton more damage. The idea for this dude was to destroy the dancer early. It really doesn't matter what level you are if you're not doing things smarter rather than harder. You can laugh her strikes off with a 100% physical block shield. Most early characters can block twice without losing their shield too. To negate this possibility, you want to be hugging her rear and slamming her as many times as possible to yield staggers. This is especially necessary (not to mention hilarious) in phase 2. She breaks off combos when staggered. The rest is up to observing and dodging, striking and blocking accordingly.

I already killed her with abalest +3, scroll up a bit.
VonRaven 666 Feb 4, 2021 @ 3:29am
just hug her leg and run to the corners when she spins, repeat, repeat, and she's dead. sl 40 with a + 4 weapon is more than enough.
