then launch Dark Souls III and go offline.
Delete all your characters (won't matter as you've backed up your save file)
Install the mod either from the launcher or download the 2GB file from nexusmods then copy and paste/replace the files.
Make sure whenever you launch the game, you are offline (just check top left corner, if it says offline, you're good). You won't get banned that way. You will get softbanned if you play it online, then you'll only be able t play the vanilla game with other softbanned players.
This mod for is is pretty spectacular. It can be merciless at times and can even be more lost than vanilla at the beginning in terms of where people are, where to get specific class items, what upgrades what etc. The Wiki is very extensive though, so I suggest you give it a once over.
I'm currently playing it and I think FS should give these guys a job.
