Yes you will get banned for using it. I've read most people make a family share account and play offline with it. I've always wanted to try it myself, but I've never made a second account and can't be bothered to do so lol
shotgun awesome! Oct 9, 2021 @ 5:18pm
play it offline, dont use your actual characters and after you are done make sure to delete every character that has modded items (any character you opened or made during covergence)

First, backup your save file located at C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\DarkSoulsIII
then launch Dark Souls III and go offline.
Delete all your characters (won't matter as you've backed up your save file)
Install the mod either from the launcher or download the 2GB file from nexusmods then copy and paste/replace the files.

Make sure whenever you launch the game, you are offline (just check top left corner, if it says offline, you're good). You won't get banned that way. You will get softbanned if you play it online, then you'll only be able t play the vanilla game with other softbanned players.

This mod for is is pretty spectacular. It can be merciless at times and can even be more lost than vanilla at the beginning in terms of where people are, where to get specific class items, what upgrades what etc. The Wiki is very extensive though, so I suggest you give it a once over.

I'm currently playing it and I think FS should give these guys a job.

that's a great mod. i also recommend cinders. you'll be fine as long as you play it in offline mode.

so i dont have to delete my characters? but create a new one for this mode while playing offline and when im done i should only delete that one i played with. not the others?

As far as I know, you should delete your characters but if you have already made a backup of your save you'll still have them. When you're done, delete all your mod characters as well as all mod files and put your vanilla save back in the folder. The best thing to do is create a copy of your Steam Dark Souls folder and when you're done, delete the mod folder and paste the unedited folder back into Steam.
