Giving the winner some embers or marbles could be fun. But hackers kinda ruined that aspect that could exist in duels.
Pretty much always the invaders using glitches though, rarely seen a host use them. Except for the occasional probable streamers.
Any idea what % of players know how to use them?
It says "Use or exploit any bugs, errors, or design flaws to obtain unauthorized access to or use of the Game or to gain an unfair advantage over other players of the Game." You could shorten this to one variation of "Use any designs flaws to gain an unfair advantage over other players of the game." which is really vague and broadly applicable. I mean, twinking generally falls under this. Twinks have an unfair advantage due to using the design flaw in matchmaking that only looks at weapon level and character level and not including progression, items obtained (+2 rings, endgame items, 15 estus charges) and skill level. They don't ban for that. This "glitch" is just not gamebreaking enough, like. Only glitches that literally make enemies unable to play or even get a chance at beating you will be addressed, fixed or punished for. This is just an animation cancel that allows for a sped up action. Lots of shooter games have variations of bunny hopping, which allows for stronger movement. You even had games build around (unintended) animation cancels as a fundamental playstyle (GunZ)(which allowed for 4 attacks in the time of 1), that never got fixed or punished for in an online PvP game.
From my experience, the developers MAY fix this if they think it goes against the game (primarily in "real" multiplayer games, as in games that are build around PvP and DS is a single player game with multiplayer components) - but since DS3 development is done, this is going to stay, just like all other design flaws and smalltime bugs that can cause malcontent in PvP. Best way to deal with it is to learn it yourself or create a movement with the mentality of kicking/banning people that do it - and people will just stop doing it.
I truly don't understand the DS community, though, people get upset because you can heal 50% quicker if you perform a certain key combination but nobody gets upset that twinks can literally have 4 to 5 times your healthbar with estus. The one can be learned and skilled, while the other cannot be countered as they are players with end game equipment invading newbies..
My point - EULA is not a real good indicator of what is allowed, it's more something the developers can refer to when they take action, so it's intentionally broadly formulated. Best way to know if something is allowed is by developer response.

There are more posts about them made here over estus cancel posts.
Dunno how people would accuse you of cheating for a cat ring. Its not a completely unpunishable thing, move swaps can at least be parried and you are still bound by game rules just have a heavier hit. Estus cancels are basically free instant heals.
Imagine it this is topic about estus cancel not other things and thank you people like you are evidence that glitches can be used by every one and it is not skill at all
git gud stop using glitches you are worse then cheaters thinking you are good at game u are just bad and cant win without your little exploits.
YEA worse then actual cheaters but it is same thing by the way
