Riposte damage question

I'm a dex build. Is a whatever split damage infusion that gives me highest ar , asides from dark cuz the bug. Worth it over a sharp infusion on a dagger for riposte? I'm used to the old games where split damage was a mocked concept except for rare scenarios. Is getting like a fire or chaos or whatever ar is highest dagger better than a Dex infusion?

as my dagger is getting 1000 damage ripostes sometimes 800, curious if any of my main weapons can top that

I do know one that might which is the dang Giant 2 hander it gets he proc from the hornet if i recall

i haven't played the previous souls games but i can safely say that split damage can be awesome in this game if used correctly

one of my favourite builds is 30/30/30 dex int faith
have a dark lothric sword +10 for damage output
have any small shield or parry tool
have a chaos dagger +10 for riposte

the AR of the chaos dagger with the aforementioned stats is 350, while the AR of a sharp dagger at 80 dex (hardcap) is 310. this means that if you run chaos then you get +40 AR plus more stats to spend on everything else. the chaos dagger's riposte damage is around 1200, which guarantees you an insta-kill a lot of the time in PVP if you get the parry.

i know split damage isnt bad like ds1, but considering my best split damage infusion aka fire cuz its better ar than chaos at my stats, is only 20 ar more than my sharp dagger, i was wondering if the minimal 20 ar boost is worth splitting the damage
however in regards to ur 30 30 30 build, is theres any reason in paticular to level you str and dex more than the min req for your weapons if you plan on infusing dark and choas??

You get more AR with some weapons but it's not worth the stat sacrifice as youll need some Vit, Endurance and Vigor so is just better to have the min req depending on what you want to use

mmkay i figured, are these 30 30 builds worth it for example is you use zero magic asides from maybe 1 self buff like a faith spell, tears, regen, is the damage output around the same as like a 40 40 , (if were calculating after absorbtion)

if you select knight as your starting class, using the 30/30/30 build allows you to put 8 levels into other stats before reaching meta sl compared to 80 dex, on top of having higher AR. also, the reason i'm suggesting 30 dex is because the dagger still has B scaling with dex after being infused with chaos, and 30 is the softcap. levelling strength just allows you to use other heavier weapons such as the astora greatsword, which also works really well with chaos. i usually just keep my strength at 18.

by the way starting as pyromancer gives you another 8 more levels than knight for the same build just thought you might like to know :)
