Just because now is the time most chinese people are active doesn't mean there's noone there that plays in the morning or during the night. There's like 1.4 bil people in china. You're bound to encounter them more often that you like even if it's not "their afternoon".
That's just how DS is, there's no regional matchmaking, only for japan itself.

i'm (mostly) amazing at pvp and i'd love to just invade for hours on end but i just can't because i live in the middle of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ europe and fromsoft/bandai just don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about net code in general.

its not about human rights, its about internet connection and if im not gliding throughout whole irithyll area in t-pose that means that my rights as ds3 player have to be protected, not some fellow yellow guy who have vpn

For anyone outside of japan that setting is literally meaningless.
