Ashes of Ariandel DLC is as much of a disappointment as Dark Souls 3 was.

1.The dlc is about two hours worth of pve, and an arena which is not that much different from pontiff and ganks.
2. 80% of the weapons in the dlc use recylcled movesets with slightly different weapon arts.
3.There is only one good boss fight, the enemies and envitorment are incredible boring.

what i dislike is all the weapons are like dex builds wet dreams

and the only good STR weapon is the millwood battleaxe, and even then it's better on a quality build, like everything else. the ultras are trash because they're ultras

Overall, Ashes of Ariandel is basically another mediocre fan service with tons of recylced content to Dark Souls 1 that shows a lack of effort by FromSoft. The NPCs are only difficult because they gank you in huge groups, and are about as interesting to fight as the annoying generica enemies you grind through in the main game. They even put in a generic wolf boss and NPC. Yes, there are a few unique weapons such as the Crow Quills, Friedes Scythe, Valorheart, Followers Torch and the Javelin, but the rest are just recycled movesets with a different weapon art. (Earthseaker, Millwood Battle Axe, Crow Talons, everything else) The Arena is alright, but I feel like From purposely left it out of the main game so they could charge us for it in this dlc as one of it's few redeeming qualities. The snow enviroment is boring and depressing, and the level design is rushed and uninteresting. Just compare Ashes of Ariandel to The Crown of the Ivory King from Dark Souls 2. Crown of the Ivory King looked beautiful, had solid boss fights, for the most part level design was fantastic, and the enemies were unique.
