Uchigatana is just a generic normal katana. Nothing too special about it. Its just... Fine.
Thrust damage struggles against skeletons - that i know for sure. Thrust damage has a unique mechanic that when opponents take any action (particularly mid-swing of attacks) they take -30% defense panalty to thrust damage, so thrust-damage based weapons are extremely good for punishing enemies.
Slash damage is kinda the worst damage type in the game. Its bad against plate-armored oponents and scales, which is majority of enemies in this game.
The enemies with open flashy hide though... Like hollow zombies and other unarmored poor bastards - they take ALL the bonus damage in the world.
