How do you not get cursed on the deacons of hte deep?

as soon as they start casting their curse storm thing, i pretty much always get cursed because it follows you. any one found a way to bypass them? i managed to kill them on my first run but for some reason i keep getting cursed now

Edit: i'm talking about the second stage where the pope appears and the red light stop bouncing between them. i looked at a few video and they dont seem to be casting their curse storm attack that they always cast on me

I'm talking about the storm thing. i legit run around the arena and i still get slowly curse (it seems like the storm covers the entire arena). sometimes they fire the curse thing at me which instantly fills my half filled bar

it is strange. this boss is very slow. theoretically you can avoid any damage by running

Curse The Archdeacon Vanguard will congregate and cast a long build up spell that will cover the arena in curse-inflicting fog. Can be interrupted.

Here is the attack that i'm talking about, i didn't know that they channel it forever until they get hit because they never do that attack on my first run

Try to interrupt the casting. I killed this boss idk how many times and never had this problem. Keep pressure on the boss.

I cant play rn sorry, busy irl. It happens during the second stage. Ill keep the pressure on the boss next time, thoughtit was a radius thing where the further i go out the less curse, i’ll recieve but thats clearly not the case

Yeah, the pope. but i didn't know that i was able to interrupt it and can't see what the pope is doing since he is surrounded by everyone in the room.

i did this boss yesterday, summoned help. though i think i did majority of the damage, just smashed whoever was red :), had one or two questionable moments but yea, boss dead now. last time same thing. bumrushed whoever had red. first play through i struggled but got there in the end

I don't know if you already have it(or should have it)...but there's a ring called cursebite ring, it might help

for me, stunlocking the pope seemed to work, as it canceled the attack. but I'm not sure. It's been months since I did pve
