Pyromancy and Dex build
Just wondering if the below build is viable as a pyromancer/dex build. I'm still really early game, just left firelink shrine and atm I'm using the Uchigatana. This is the build I'm aiming for:
SL:125

Vig:35
Att:20
End:30
Vit:8
Str:16
Dex:40
Int:28
Fth:30
Lck:7

Thanks in advance!

No pyromancers online? Or have you all gone hollow!

Why do you want DEX to be so high? I'd say go 40/40 in INT/FTH and infuse your weapons with Dark/Chaos.

It's weak. Mediocre physical damage and fire damage.
I suggest full 80 dex or 40/40 pyro with dark infsions/pyro weapons.

EDIT: You will get comparable damage with the uchiganta through dark infusion (with shield chip capability) at 30/30 int/faith. Most pyromancers go for the lothric knight sword or the demons scar (top tier).

If you go full pyro, I highly suggest 24 or 30 attunement and base stats for your weapons (15str 18dex will give all the best pyro options). Use prisoners chain and ring of favor +3. At 26 endurance you hit a break point for stamina gain with favor +3.

8 vit... you can barely wear rags and mid roll. you will get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ often unless you are full pyro

I also suggest you lower dex and invest more in int/fai. It isn't wise to have your stats spread wide.

If you're aiming for SL125 I suggest a build like this:
vig: 35 (will get +5 with pchain)
attn: 24 or 30
end: atleast 21 (will get +5 with pchain)
vit: base or higher (will get +5 with pchain)
str: 15 is required for parting flame
dex: 18 is required for lothric knight sword
int: 40
faith: 40
luck: base

Rings:
1. Prisoners chain (gives 5 vig, 5 end, 5 vit at the cost of taking 3% more dmg, its a best in slot ring)
2. Ring of Favor +3 (best in slot ring)
3. Witches ring
4. Sage ring + OR swamp ring (depends on your weapon set up)

Weapons: In a sort of order...
1. Demon's scar: This is the best pyro weapon in the game. Offhand a sage belvine chime for increased cast speed and ditch your sage ring for the swamp ring. This weapon has the fast 2hr1s of fast curved swords and it casts pyromancies with 1hr2 and 2hr2. Why is this weapon amazing in PVP? 2hr1 -> black flame is a true combo. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME YOU DO NOT USE THE SAGE RING!
2. Lothric Knight Sword (DARK): Debatebly the best weapon in the game overall. You can pair this with the parting flame for a true combo 1hr1 -> black flame that will deal around 800+ damage to a player.
3. Longsword (DARK): Nearly identitcal to the lothric knight sword. Slightly less damage (by 5 AR) and slightly less range, but gains the 1hr2 -> 1hr2 combo. You can save points in dex by using this instead of the LKS. You can pair this with the parting flame for a true combo 1hr1 -> black flame that will deal around 800+ damage to a player.
4. Onyx blade: The longest greatsword in the game and it deals good damage. 2hr1 -> WA is a true combo that hits for huge damage when your opponent is very close to you.
5. Estoc (DARK): This one is unique since it has a true combo of Flame fan -> Flame fan -> r1 which hits for around 800+ damage. Hitting with flame fan isn't easy, but its extremely deadly. The combo works with any thrusting sword, but estoc is the best thrusting sword.

Also, any weapon with your base stats + dark infusion is good. The uchiganta is a very good weapon for example. I don't know of uchi 1hr1 -> black flame with the parting flame is a true combo, I think this is worth some research.
For PVE, chaos infusion has an edge over dark infusion because a lot of things are weak to fire. You can switch them up of course. Also at 40/40, you hit the soft caps for crystal (magic) and lightning infusions so you can swap for those too.

Have fun. The pyromancer is my favorite of my builds. Very versitile and easily the best of the 3 caster trees. Here's an old video that inspired me to make a pyromancer: https://youtu.be/ylIXhcVAP08

Atm I'm using the deep battle axe and I quite like it, but it scales with nothing. Or is it better that I stick with the Lothric Knight Sword or Uchigatana and upgrade one of those? My str/dex aim is 15/18.

My aim eventually is the chaos Lothric Knight Sword, but that's still quite a ways. Since I'm just at the undead settlement. And yeah I'm going for the 40/40 quality build.

So the main question is which of the above weapons will do till I can make the chaos lothric knight sword.

And how does infusion work in ds3 anyway? Do I need to upgrade my Lothric Knight Sword to +5 or +10 before I can make it dark/chaos eventually? Or do I just find the gem for it?

Sorry for the questions, but ds3 has me more confused then 1 and 1 remastered. Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated!

Maybe you should play through the game and learn its basic mechanics before asking all of these questions. You can respec your build later on.

I played through the game once already with the knight class and a longsword and found it quite easy. But never as a pyromancer or caster in general. That's why I'm asking.

I see. Your post gave me the impression that you never played it before. I think its best to google what infusions do, but basically they give your weapon a split damage with a magical element, and scaling will go more towards that element's main stat. Dark is the best in PVP and chaos or lightnining is considered the best for PVE.

Dark and Chaos softcap at 30/30
Crystal at 40 int
Lightning at 40 faith.

A pyro build soft caps at 40/40 since all of the catalysts, witches locks, and onyx blade all soft cap here. So a dark build and a pyro build ARE two different things. Dark builds are essentially melee builds that use dark infusions and some spells while pyro is more like the build I have above that focuses on spell combos or spells with good melee.

Also, you just slap whatever infusion gem on your weapon. It's like Dark Souls 2.
