With 40 strength and heavy infusion it seems to have surprisingly low damage, despite the good scaling. It's quite honestly depressing.
Went to see on my SL132 pure strength character.
At 40 strength (softcap) we see this (one-handed / two-handed):
+9 Heavy Zweihander = 484 / 515 AR
+9 Heavy Cathedral UGS = 501 / 533 AR
+9 Heavy Greatsword = 542 / 576 AR
At 99 strength (maximum possible) we see this:
+9 Heavy Zweihander = 561 AR
+9 Heavy Cathedral UGS = 580 AR
+9 Heavy Greatsword = 629 AR
As you can see, basically, despite weighting 50% more than Zweihander - Cathedral UGS deals only some 3-4% damage more than Zwei, while The Greatsword is pretty much the best UGS in the game because not only it has a far superior AR in basically every case, but it has extra reach as well because it's slightly longer than the others.
The only thing Cathedral's has going for it is dealing strike damage on R1's (so its basically a mace disguised as a greatsword) and having an R2 thrust when two-handed - which by no means makes it unique, since there is like 4 other greatswords who can do the same and probably deal more damage while at it too.
TL:DR - It's a sad, unbalanced weapon which is outperformed by pretty much everyone else in the class. Looks gorgeous though, i'll give it that.
