Dried Finger doesn't work or just me?

I've been dried fingering for pvp as I go through NG+2 at SL 130 +10. I haven't gotten invaded once in nearly 12 hours. I'm embered, online, dried fingered, haven't beaten the area boss, my internet is fine (I can connect to a friend just fine with little to no lag) and yet I'm not getting invaded. 130 should be a good level too.

Is this game dead right now or am I just extraordinarily unlucky? Just a month ago when I made this profile I would get invaded twice an hour or more at this SL even without the dried finger. Or is everyone just at pontiff today and nobody cares to invade?

If you're not getting invaded even at the more popular spots then I think it'd have to be on your end.

I can understand not getting invaded at places like Undead Settlement, since that's dead, but Pontiff's, Archdragon Peak, Grand Archives, Ringed City and Ariandel should've gotten you a few invaders at the very least.

That's what I'd like to think as well, I just can't deduce what it is that's causing it. Like I said, I tried testing it by having a friend (120 +10) invade which worked just fine. Do you have any ideas about what the issue could be?

Is there a time limit for invasions per area (won't allow invaders past a certain amount of time)? I mean I use a lot of regen to save estus for invaders so I spend a lot of time in each area. That's the only thing I think could be causing it.

Also I just tested my internet and got an aldrich invasion in about 15 seconds. My computer is connected just fine. I am in grand archives currently, I guess just nobody is invading today.

Only timer I can think of is that you can't get invaded for 10 minutes after killing an invader, but that's obviously not it since using dried finger ignore it. I also think summoning a phantom resets the timer as well (as in you can get invaded right away, but once the red dies then there's a 10 minute timer again).

I do know of a bug, but I don't know if it'd affect you. Sometimes when me and a friend are at Pontiff's too long, suddenly we can't get invaded. If we check the "recent players" we can see that people are trying to connect, but the game won't let it. We fix this by resetting the area (phantoms BC out and host rests at bonfire). But again, this takes a while before it happens, and seems most noticable after killing the PvE.

I'm pretty sure I've had that bug myself. I've cleared most of the area already, I'll try resetting and seeing what happens, thanks for the suggestion. I just can't check recent players because for whatever reason, my steam profile won't list play time or recent players (maybe a setting or something).

Probably in settings. What areas can you host in? I'll say which ones are most likely for you to be invaded in.

Grand Archives and Ashes of Ariandel currently. I could get to The Dreg Heap by killing Friede and still host in AoA, it would just take a while.

It is possible your internet connection isn't stable and was at that time tested/invaded. It is also possible your FPS in areas is generally too low and the game is coded to block you from playing online if framerate drops low enough.

Yeah, a favorite area of mine but I don't play there at all because it isn't active enough to really bother with anymore, imo.

Doubt you'd get many at Dreg Heap, so it'd be best to kill Demon Prince as well

I'd say Ringed City is 2nd most popular for invaders after Pontiffs. Grand Archives should get you a couple, but that might just be it.

I have seen a few invaders at early Ariandel and the corvian settlement recently.

I don't drop frames hardly ever (only at the start of dreg heap, I think the area is just too big to render all at once), but I tried lowering my graphics settings one step down just in case that's the issue.

Well I got invaded no problem in the Dreg Heap, so it looks like it's just a lack of activity. I guess the Grand Archives is just a dead area at this SL/WL, even when dried fingered.
