No, you need to backup your save files manually.

No. The save is within this file path. Users > "Username" > AppData > Roaming > DarkSoulsIII > Save Folder. Within the save folder is all of your Dark Souls III characters combined into one file.

Ah yeah, sorry to trouble you guys then. Yeah my HDD had a total failure, no backing up for me. rip my 3 level 125-150 toons

That's a shame. Well in the future make sure you keep a backup. First thing I learned about before I made my first character. Plus now I can move my save to my laptop when I'm away at college and back to my pc at home.
