Spear of choice?
3rd thread in two days lel

So I'm proceding with an hybrid dex/fth build as usual: long ranged weapon for keeping ground control so as to allow spells (theorically?)

I usually go for spears/halberds (or bows but no Bow of Want in Ds3 lel) but... Are they even good? I was considering spears, specifically the Lothric Looong Spear but it hasn't much of AR comparing to the Lothric SS that I'm currently using. What do ye suggest?

the fork for largest hitbox and very fast with decent range
saint bident for max rangue
lothric knight spear or great lance for the best main weapon spears

Pretty much concise

So I guess I'll go for Lothric Knight Spear, it has a nice fashion and a decent AR, not much of a difference from LKSS but aighty
The Lothric War Banner or Saint Bident. Both are fine spears.

As far as halberds go, can't go wrong with the Lucerne; Not incredibly long but all of its attacks including its swings are thrust damage, which is great. But I also have a soft spot for the Red-Hilted Halberd thanks to it having Perseverance. You might benefit more with Lucerne with sharp infusion as it gets A scaling, whereas Red-hilt only has C.

These also don't require huge strength investment (15 and 14 respectively) in comparison to other halberds like the Splitleaf Greatsword (26) and Gundyr's Halberd (30).

EDIT: Red-hilt also has pokes akin to a spear and its moveset is like the Partizan, incase you really like pokes.

Bident if youre infusing, lothric's running charge will get you killed.

Just tried those halberds and they don't fit in my playstyle . I'm considering Lothric Spear but I used the sharp gem on the sword, would it be against the etiquette asking for one?

Edit: yeah Lothric Pike weapon art and running attack seem pretty much awful against some tanky boy, pretty sure that I would mind not using those unless 1 hp/chasing enemy lel

Other players can't drop gems for you.
On low levels / early game you can check if you get more damage with a raw gem.
You can pick up a second sharp gem in Catacombs.
It's possible that other players infuse the weapon for you, when they have spare gems in their inventory.
Farming sharp gems is possible, but hard on low sl. The big skeletons in Catacombs have very bad drop rates. Well, and the Corvian Knights drop a bit better, but are harder to kill. I usually kill the first one, before you arrive the Corvian Settlement bf.
