Patches wont appear in firelink

I've met patches in the cathedral, met Sieg in the well but when I go back to firelink and go up the tower I dont get locked in, I opened the tower before I met patches so that might be it but this is really pissing me off since I made a character specifically to do Sieg's questline please if you know what to do help!

nope doesn't affect it if you buy the tower key unlock it and go up the elevator to grab the fire keeper soul
patches should lock you there no matter if you seen him in the cathedral or not

He doesnt show up whenever i go up the elevator though, he never did

I think you need to complete the entire area before he can spawn in Firelink. Even then you have to go up the elevator that leads to the firekeeper soul, hear the caged door close, then go back down.

Also: Why do you need Patches? To buy the Onion Armor? Did you search for Patches at both places in Cathedrale, it may be he is still there. Looked for him near Rosaria too ?

Patches appears in firelink only when you unlock the rosaria shortcut (raise the bridge) and open the exit from the cathedral to graveyard area.
He will appear when you use the elevator in firelink shrine.

This guy is right, you dont need the shortcut to Rosaria tough, the only requirement is that you open the door which leads to the cemetery.

I've tried everything and nothing seems to work, must have done something along the way, thanks for all the help though, I really appreciate it!
