The Ringed City DLC should be the canon ending of Dark souls 3.
I love DS3, but after delivering the 4 lords souls it all goes to ****.

DS3 has great areas and atmosphere, very cool bosses. And then at the end of the game (At the climax), you play against a tin can filled with Lord Souls.... How lame was that?

I just played the AoA and the TheRinged CityDLC and it was fantastic.
I wish the DLC just replaced the last Final level od DS3 instead of adding to it.

It would have been much better, if after you delivered the 4 Lord souls you got transported to the Painted world, so that The player would go after "The Dark Soul", just like the DLC went.
Lore wise the DLC is so much more apealing than the original game final area.

Do you guys agree?

You do realize that the Ringed City is not only the canon ending of Dark Souls 3, but the entire word of the Dark Souls series, right? Only dust and ash is left, nobody else is alive.

I actualy didn't realize it. I just thout to myself " I don't care what about to the Devs made. To me this is the real ending."

But if what you are saying is true, then i am happy with this ending to the series.
Its a great ending. I loved DS3 but the previous ending left a sour taste in my mouth.

I am happy now.:steamhappy:

Soul of Cinder is one of the most unique bossfights in video gaming. It's not a "tin can filled with Souls". It's an amalgamation of all the previous Lords, putting you against a final test to prove your worth. The Ringed City's ending is also fantastic, and it is kind of the ending anyway, because it likely tskes place after the Linking of the Flame.

All what you are saying is true. And it sucks.

Yes It's an amalgamation of all the previous Lords, wich sucks as an ending. The only thing memorable about that fight is the Gwyn move set (Fan service).
Don't get me wrong, its a nice boss, but just not worth of a End Game boss.(Lore wise)

The ringed city DLC is a worthy ending Lorewise and dificulty wise.

It isn't fan service. Gwyn, the most powerful soul who linked the fire is brought back.

Yes i know. And Gwyn is of the most importance for the Souls Series.(Lorewise)But we already fought Gwyn in DS1.

Something new like The Ringed City Lore, that expands on the lore(and lets us meet the missing daughter of Gwyn) is of much more quality content, than a throwback at a character of a previous game.

Also the "prove yourself" is kinda of meaningless to Souls world.
I mean after i have proved myself as the ultimate warrior, what then? The world just resumes with a Fire/Dark age as always.

Remeber that a new painting is in progress. So a new world without Fire/Dark age cycles will be born.

Well, consider that the last painting was burned away once the rot set in, so there'll still be cycles, although instead of burning people alive, it'll be burning worlds dead while painting a new one.

Yeah, true. There will still be cycles.
But at least the world isn't over, there is chance for a world really new.

One thing is for sure The Ringed CityDLC, marks the "Gwyn Age" end.

No. Canonically, the actual Soul of Cinder, an amalgamation of all previous lords, is far more powerful than anything else you have faced. They wouldn't just go ahead and let a kingslayer or monster slayer link the flame without testing his might. It doesn't suck, there literally could have been no other ending. I don't know what you expected, having finished every other game.

Well, I've seen people who expected a fight against Velka, so maybe he forgot that Dark Souls isn't about the spectacle, but instead the crushing atmosphere and fluid gameplay (We traded poise for this, so it'd had to be gud)

Velka suddenly turning and saying "fight me" would make no sense, luckily. And people who said that probably just really wanted to see Velka. Like Ashen Hollow.

I get the Power "thing" you are talking about.(Wich actualy isn't because that boss is much easier than every DLC bosses, but it doesn't matter lorewise anyways...)

The problem i have with that boss is not the quality of the fight. Its the quality of the Lore of that Boss.

It makes sense, but its just so simple and poor.
The Ringed City DLC ending.... You could write abook on it. It's just much deeper and complex. A proper ending.
