Make that three points....no kamakazie wannabes
I think it is worth it, but I might just be an antisocial masochist.
You may know about the invasion mechanics of the Dark Souls games, i.e. where an enemy player connects to your world as an enemy phantom (Only when you're embered/human,) and attempts to kill you for rewards. You won't be invaded randomly by other players while playing offline, but there are scripted invasions in the game, meaning you can be invaded by NPCs.
Additionally, you may know about the co-op mechanics - summoning a friendly player to help you. This functions offline as well, because while you cannot be summoned yourself on account of no players to connect to, you can summon NPCs to help you on your journey.
I hope this clears up everything for you.
Offline is the way to go. Invasions in DS were always just annoying bs anyway and invaders are just bad bad persons. In an already not so easy game they choose to ruin other people's progress. I don't even have words for the malicious mindset required to even consider invading somebody.
