where to go after dark firelink shrine?
i am lost but i dont want youtube to spoil it.

Did you kill Yorm? If not, go back to Irithyll, find the Irithyll Dungeon and the Profaned Capital.

it dead ends its supposed to be a secret area so it doesnt lead anywhere

That's an optional area.

You go through the Grand Archives next.

How I told you: find the Profaned Capital and kil the boss Yorm there.
After this you will be able to open the locked door.
