How long until the Irithyll Straight Sword isn't viable?
I've been using the Irithyll straight sword for a while, and am nearing Irithyll, and I am wondering, how long until this sword is practically unusable? And once it is, are there any swords that use similar attributes?

I guess you can switch to the lothric knight straight sword when greirat sells them (after irithyll I think). or you can farm it from the lothric knights that use it, but I'm not 100% sure that they drop it.

Frost isn't as strong as bleed, so you could try the barbed straight sword.

You get it in the Cathedral of the Deep after killing Kirk, iirc

Still a shame that I can't continue to use this sword. I put a lot of titanite into it

it's gonna be good against the dragonslayer armor. use that and a torch in the left hand. inflict frost, hit him once with the torch, repeat.

Also, this is off topic, but does the blessed gem restore HP to the player or the weapon?

the player.
only use it if you put a lot of points in faith, otherwise it's not really worth it.

i used a fully upgraded irithyll straight sword in my first playthrough, then i switch to a fully upgraded falchion. Don't do what i did and infuse it with fire, infusions in ds3 are garbage.

they aren't garbage anymore (but you do need the right stats for them).

for pve? you can go end game with it if you want.

They aren't garbage. Just use the right stats. Unless if its deep, fire, or raw.

Last I checked, the Irithyll Straight sword was a really good weapon since the buff to Frost (granted I don't use the Straight Sword class since... Well. Nevermind). You can certainly take it with you to end game. It's not really a "meta" weapon, but its reliable frost buildup and the fact that you don't need any additional stat to make Frost better (unlike bleed and poison with Luck) makes it even better for a beginner to utilize to its full potential.
