Why is the Drang Armor So Bad?

So, you'd imagine the Drang Armor to be a bit better than it is, but there are armor pieces that are available much earlier in the game which have much better stats overall than they do. What's the deal with that? They're absolutely horrendous, when compared to almost anything else! Where's the poise with all of that Geisteel reinforcement? I don't see any, and the Mirrah Vest (which is essentially all leather, mind you) has 4.2 poise, compared to the Drang Armor. 4.2! How much does the Drang Armor have? Only 0.8 poise. All of the Mirrah Vest's stats are better, except weight! What's the deal with this? It was designed by Llewellyn, the most accomplished smith in all of Mirrah- how come a royal piece of armor is utterly terrible compared to that of a Mirrah Knight?

FromSoft, please make the Drang Set better than it currently is. It's in a sorry state, and has been so since launch. I'd suggest making it heavier, and adding improved stats; and possibly making the Mirrah Vest lighter, and giving it slightly less good stats.

the mirrah vest is just leather as well mate, this armor is apparently reinforced with Geisteel

Depending on how you pronounce Geisteel it pretty much sums up how good the steel is.
