Pyromancer/Warrior Help
So after playing on my main character until Journey 5, I decided to give pyromancing a try, since I've never done the spell casting, and when I played on my friend's character to help kill the dancer, I saw how helpful the spells were to deal damage, and then go in for the melee kill.

However, I don't know the best way to distribute the skills when I level up, since I've always done the straight strength/dex route.
My plan is to specialize in one trait (probs dex) then go for the intelligence faith split, but besides that, I'm not sure where to go.

And any weapon suggestions? I need one main weapon to use for each upgrade material path (normal, twinkling, scale)
If you have weapon suggestions from the DLC, that's fine, I'll pick it up eventually.

Thank You For Your Help

How much attunement would be good enough? Enough for 3 to 4 attunement slots?

you need 24 to get 4 slots

30 give you 5 and 40 give you 6 slots

About 10 levels, not bad.
I should probably let future helpers know: I'm not for PVP, so any SL that might go beyond 200 is fine, my main character is SL 226 or so.

Some pyromancies can miss enemies who stand in one place. You have to find what's useful in PvE, and if you ever PvP, then what's useful there. Playing around with rapport and pyromancies like that might be fun tho. And it also hits hard when you have around 40/40 int/fth. Under that I dunno if it's worth it... Maybe a bow would be better if you want ranged?

I'll mostly do PvE. I can figure out spells, but weapons are the thing I need some help with. I just need help with that because I have a limited amount of titanite slabs to use, so I need to make sure I choose wisely

OK, so far I've thought of using the Follower Torch (whenever I get the DLC), Dancer swords, Lorian's ultra greatsword, the Demon fists (the pyro caestus), maybe use Wolnir sword and Moon sword for other damage types, and maybe use some sorceries for some of the bosses that are weak to magic. I might add that dark flame sword from the DLC too, I forgot what the name was.

EDIT: Onyx blade

What do you guys think? Any other weapons you suggest?

Witch locks, almost ever chaos/dark infused small weapon (axes, longswords, maces, rapiers etc)

infused Thrall Axe, infused Longsword. Very reliable.

Almost forgot about that whip, that would be a good one to use.

I plan on making a full-on Guide of this since it's a different, yet viable build, so I'll give you a summary:

My main is a pyro warrior or battlepyro, so I've been using these: Chaos Dark Sword, Refined Dark Sword (Dark infusion), with minimum stats to wield. This is mainly because it's a very versatile weapon that infuses well with Dark and Chaos, and attributes sync well with Parting Flame's stat requirements. Pyromancer's Parting Flame with 30/30 INT/FTH. Standard Pyromancy flame is much better when being a pure pyro, therefore you can invest in other stats.

Spells I most commonly use are Black Flame (first slot, important), Flame Swathe Profaned Flame, Flame Serpent, and Chaos Storm. I think Profaned Flame is absurdly underated, it pulls out comparable damage to Chaos Fireball/Bed Vestiges, yet costs 1 slot instead of 2. It requires -a lot- more skill to use in comparison.

Nevertheless, if you're still a novice pyromancer, I suggest Vestiges, and replace Chaos Firestorm with Firestorm or Rapport since it's pretty awesome in DS3's PvE.

That works, I was planning on using the Dark Sword anyway since that got me through majority of the first playthrough. I just needed suggestions for when I need to finalize the build for the higher playthroughs, but getting through the first is the first step through the epic journey
