For New Players
If you have stumbled on the discussion and clicked this. It must have been because 1. you're new and it says for new players. 2. You want to find some errors and/or add some new suggestions since you are experienced with this game yourself. Although you could've go on the guides page you instead clicked this. Which is great. For now i'm gonna assume that you are at the page where you are supposed to pick a class. I'm also gonna give you some tips on Iudex Gundyr and some goodies on High Wall of Lorthic, Cemetery of Ash, and Firelink Shrine. Also some good early game weapons. Anyways lets start.

Classes

Firstly let's assume you are on the class page. You don't know which one to pick and you are really confused. Although it isn't THAT important it does impact on early game. In my opinion pick the knight. The knight has good health due to him having good vigor. He also has decent strength and dexetery and has pretty decent attunement and endurance. He also has very minimal of the worthless stat called luck. Don't level up that stat on your first time. You would think that the item discovery boost would be good but nope it's pretty negliable. Making it almost worthless unless if you made a build for it. Deprived isn't recommended for new players because you start out naked with a stick. Although it is pretty customizable just don't. Cleric and sorcerer isn't great either unless if you really want to cast miracles or spells. Warrior is pretty good for a strength build so you can pick that if you want. Pyromancer is good early game since most things are weak to fire early game. Never tried Herald personally so I have no idea what it actually does. Mercenary is pretty good if you want to be a dexterity build. Don't pick thief. Assassin is pretty good for a mix of Sorceries and Curved swords (Int/Dex).For burial gifts choose either the life ring, soverignless soul, and black firebomb. The rest are either for people who have completed te game before or are worthless. Now that I have covered all the classes it's time to cover the cemetery of ash and Iudex Gundyr.

Cemetery of Ash

Yay! You have just woken up from your grave. And then you encounter some hollows. Kill them because you need to kill em to progress and they are pitifully easy to murder. Go towards the pathway next to the pathway to your grave. Their will you find a soul. Please save it for later.
Grab the ashen flask from the knight and continue on until you get to a section with two hollows curled up. Kill them and follow to where there is a message that says turn back. Don't follow the message's warning and continue on. You will find a giant crystal lizard. Go and kill it. If you can't come back later with better gear. It will drop a really good item that upgrades boss weapons. Also there is a guy that is dead near the crystal lizard so steal his soul after you kill the lizard. Continue on, light the first bonfire, fight a hollow, then you will come across an exposed grave with an item on top of it. Jump to their and you will get a titanite shard. Save that for later continue on your merry way until you come across a ledge with a ramp. Jump off to the ledge and kill the enemies. Then get the item which are five firebombs save that for later also. Now then lets get on to Iudex Gundyr

Iudex Gundyr

Otherwise known as the scrub killer. This guy will destroy new players that have never played any soulsborne game. (Soulsborne is term for the entire genre of miyazaki's games that are not mech games. Well, excluding the Kings Field series.) Anyways, if you haven't fought him yet go and pull the sword out of his chest. Then swing your sword as much as you can at him. When his health bar shows up it will be damaged because you swung your sword at him. If you didn't do that and already died don't panick. Firstly, lock on because it actually helps you dodge. At least for me anyways. Whenever he does an attack wait a sec because their is a chance that he will do another attack. Also BEWARE the grabs. That move will utterly destroy your HP and you need that estus incase if you made mistakes. When half of his HP is gone he will go to his second phase. I hope that you saved those firebombs because now would be the time to use them since he is weak to fire. Either that or just use your pyromancy if you chose pyromancer. Besides that just be very close and dodge. Oh and also swing your sword at him. If you have defeated him lets go to Firelink Shrine.

Firelink Shrine

There is a bunch of loot but i'm only going to focus on the REALLY important ones. I'm sure you can find most of them by curiosty. Anyways what you have probably noticed is that there is a guy wearing rags and wielding a katana. Go and kill him. It may take a few tries but you will kill him and you will get his rags and his katana. (If he fell off then reload your game the loot will be where he stood.) The katana is pretty good if you want to invest in dex but his rags are pretty much worthless unless you really need extra carry weight. If you decide to go to the giant's tree there is a roof with goodies inside of it. Do you notice that other tree. Run up to it then jump towards the rooftop. Once you are finally up on the roof top go to the door. On the ledge's there is an estus shard and from the ledge where you got the estus shard go towards and hit the wall. It will disappear and there will be a chest if you drop down to where the chest is. There you will find a ring that will give you more souls each kill. It's really good for getting more souls when you get a boss kill or just farming for souls in general. Now that we got the REALLY important stuff lets go to the High Wall of Lorthic.

High Wall of Lorthic

I won't walkthrough this place because it is pretty linear although I will show you the really good goodies and some tips. Firstly once you are at the high wall of lorthic bonfire go towards the right. Kill the enemies. Even the big ones wield the giant halberds and axes. It's actually possible to get the halberd and the giant axe from those enemies but don't farm them yet. Besides the Halberd will be trumped by the goodie I will show you at the end of the guide. Anyways go forward and go up the stairs and there will be a group of enemies. Instead of attacking them straight away. Go near them. Then an enemy will transform to a Pus of Man. Kill it and you will get a titanite shard and an ember. (I would suggest using fire because it is also weak to fire.) Also be sure to get the longbow. Go back and continue on the linear pathway. Until you come across a dead dragon. Go up the stairs and kill the enemies. If you see a ledge drop down and you will get gold pine resin. SAVE IT FOR LATER. Once you got the gold pine resin continue on the pathway again until you come across a pathway and some stairs go up the stairs and when you hear something drop down. Go down as fast as you can. Ta-da! You encountered a dragon! Now then if you have enough arrows and you have got the longbow. Shoot your arrows at the dragon. When it flies away you will get a large titanite shard. Which is pretty good if you want to upgrade your normal weapons up to +6. Once you killed the dragon or you want to just want to go up the stairs. You can find some embers and a claymore! Now then go to the cage door and go inside. You will find a chest. DO NOT OPEN IT. It's a mimic and if you open it it will instantly kill you if you open it. You can tell if it is a mimic due to the chain and the fact that if you look at it closely it breathes. Continue on, light that second bonfire. Then continue on your day until you get to a roof with a bunch of hollow's praying to some tree's with hollow's on them. Go forward then go back because a pus of man will also appear. Kill it and you will get the same loot as the first one which is extremely useful. Oh, and there is a crystal lizard that isn't a horrifying monster. Kill it and you will get a raw gem which is extremely useful for early game. Continue on then go to the interior of the roof. In the room you will get some undead hunter charms which you can throw at the mimic and get the treasure. And, in the room where there is a thief you can find a titanite shard. Continue on and you will get ambushed by a hollow. Kill it and go into the room where he ambushed you and get the broadsword. Also there is another pathway blocked by boxes and chairs. Roll through that blockade and you will get some wee- I mean green blossoms and the Astora Straight Sword. Roll down to the place filled with enemies. Grab the titanite shard, estus shard, and the Cell Key. Go to a balcony and roll through some boxes to face the winged knight. Ignore him, grab the rapier, the two ember then exit the fountain area. For the shortcut incase of you die go right, kill some more enemies, grab weed and knives then take the elevator. When you arrive at the second floor open the cage door. I would highly suggest running to the high wall bonfire then resting to replenish your estus and health. If you have enough estus and health there is another shortcut to avoid the knights. Go on that block near the curled up hollow. Then dropkill him. Congratulations! You just avoided the hardest part of the high wall. Now after you kill those two annoying shield/spear hollow's you can finally go to the boss. But before you do that i'll leave you with one final tip. You know that old lady near the knight area where you got the way of the blue covenant from? You can kill her and access a late game boss called the Dancer of the Boreal Valley. Be careful though as the Dancer usually kicks people's asses wether at the recommended level or low level in your first playthrough. Anyways time to go to vordt.

Vordt of the Boreal Valley

AKA an ice human dog.. thing. So to stop people from entering the High Wall (Yes, that door is the entrance.) So Pontiff D*ckvahn placed this dog in your way or he just has a fetish for beast human things. Anyways is your weapon buffable? Did you get the Gold Pine Resin? Did you upgrade your weapon of choice to +2? Did you infuse your weapon with raw? Then you should utterly destroy him. His attacks are arguably easy to telegraph and I actually had a less difficult time with him than with Iudex. The only attack that you should watch out for is when he becomes extremely♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥(AKA his second phase) when he basically just goes around and rams into things. His ice breath is easily exploitable just go behind his backside and smack his butt while he breaths his ice breath. On to the weapons! What? You want to to tell you how to progress to the undead settlement. Just go towards the cliff edge then raise the banner after you kill vordt. Anyways NOW lets go to the weapons.

Good Very Early Game Weapons (Cemetery- High Wall)

The Longsword- It's a good weapon all around. It's even good late game because of it's good damage. Also it is very customizable. If you are a sorcerer infuse it with crystal. Pyromancer? Infuse it with chaos. Quality build? Infuse it with refined. It's customizable and it does good damage. So yeah it's a pretty good weapon. Especially for PVP. It's downfall? Lack of poise. Yes although poise wasn't like it was in previous games and it relies on hyperarmor. Where you can find it? Randomly dropped on High Wall hollows and is the starting gear for the Knight.

The Mace- Why don't people talk about this weapon? It's a pretty damn good weapon that does good damage. It is also good late game. And it has poise because of it's weapon art. I can't find any flaws. You can get it from Greriat and it is the starting equipment for the Cleric.

The Astora Straight Sword- It's a pretty good weapon EARLY game. Especially infused with raw. It's downfall? It's lack of scaling. Due to the lack of scaling it's trash later on. It's like the Drake Sword. Good for early game but ♥♥♥♥ing trash later on. Once you have invested quite a bit into what build you want stop using the Astora Straight Sword. You can find it in high wall near the fountain.

The Claymore- This weapon is also pretty good because of good damage. It can also carry you towards the end of the game. It also has hyperarmor. It's downfall? None that I can think of. You can find it near the dragon.

The Battle Axe- You know that deep battle axe you found from that mimic. It isn't a unique weapon. It's just a battle axe infused with deep so why not cover the battle axe in general? The battle axe is decent. It's just that later on there are better axes like the milliwood battle axe. That's pretty much it. It's decent. It's dropped by the mimic in high wall.

The Greataxe- It's a good weapon however it's extremely high strength requirement makes most people stay away from it. And when it becomes good there are other weapons that are better but it is still a good weapon late game. It's weakness? It's lack of range. You can get it from High Wall.

Vordt's Great Hammer- You technically get the soul in high wall even though you need transpose the soul on an item from undead settlement. So technically it's both from high wall and from the Undead Settlement but i'm just gonna say you get it from high wall since you get the soul from high wall. It's a pretty good weapon even though the damage isn't exactly the best. However the frostbite effect makes the damage pretty good. Especially if the effect activtes during a ripost. Also if you want to reuse the effect over and over hit them with fite. Then you can use the frostbite effect again without any delay!

Lucerne- Heard it's good but never used it. I don't know why I put this here.

Alright, I finally finished this! If there are things that I can put into this to improve the way the "guide" was handled that would great! Anyways, cya gonna play skyrim or something.

Because the Steam community guides section is for unoriginal meme-ing.
