You can also use this to test how much each infusion and stats increase the AR of each weapon https://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls3
Fire is decent for the early game, but but it becomes weaker and weaker as you continue. The damage you get from scaling will be far greater than any of the 3 no-scaling infusions can muster. For that reason, I recommend using one of the 3 physical scaling infusions: heavy for strength builds, sharp for dex builds, or refined for quality builds.
It all depends on what stats you plan to level. What build are you?
That's very true, but I kinda doubt the OP is doing something as complicated as a pyromancer build if he doesn't know how infusions work.
Well, pyro is kind of the new quality. Having something like 24STR and 18DEX plus both FTH/INT at 35 will make infusing a lot of weapons with Dark outdamage (considering chip damage) their quality counterparts...it's stupid really, no need for attunement even. Just to name a few:
Longsword/Lothric's
Claymore
AstoraGS/Zweihander (giant dad would be proud)/the Greatsword
ExileGS/Harald
Plow (believe me, amazing scaling and reach)
Scythe/Corvian
Mace/Warpick
Dagger/Murky
...and so on. All of these get incredible ARs with a Pyro build like that.
The plow?! Really? I've gotta try that out.
