Best end game greatsword?

Wolf knight's, black knight's, Gaels and the basterd sword are some nice ones.

Hollowslayer got that swagger R1 moveset tho, best one IMO. Also, it has poke R2s both 1h and 2h and the HA frames start earlier than other GS, so best for trading.

This is a really stupid question, but this is my first souls game, I put a fire gem On my sword, so is my sword supposed to be normal or all firey?

Nope, when you infuse you change the weapons attributes but not their appearance.
What can do that is weapon buffs, spells, basically.

Depends on SL, if you are high sl, go 30 str, 20 dex, 40 int, 40 faith and infuse a drakeblood greatsword with a dark gem. You'll have 4 scalings which work just as strong and in most cases stronger than a sharp or heavy with resin applied. Also quadruple split damage that is effective against all enemy types. The crits are insane with this weapon.

^Don't do this. Drakeblood can be a good weapon, but you need to use one of the buffable infusions, like raw. Then buff it with lightning blade, darkmoon blade or crystal magic weapon.

Not only does it have nearly half the range of the hollowslayer, it has three way split damage...it isn't better in any way.

black knight gs , because of his weapon art , basically one of the best for pvp , aslo twin princess gs is aslo a very good weapon , but you can legitemely gei it only in ng+ :D
