Man, farming for these covenant items is so tedious and dumb.
I'm trying to get the covenants up to the max rank for the items, but my god these rank item drop rates are pretty dumb. Think i've been farming for 3h and got like 1 Wolf's Blood Swordgrass (or something).

And this is with a Sorcerer, with item discovery of 115 too, is there a better way to get these things without fighting other ppl online? Or am I stuck farming these friendly village people?

I'll be perfectly honest, you don't need a good chunk of all the covenant items. As far as I can remember, the only three noteworthy items are:
Wolf Knight Greatshield: Reasonably light, and provides 50 to every status defense (yay?)
Wolf Knight Curved Sword: Unique passive, unique L2. That's about it. If you're dex, Murakumo is better, if you want it for it's WA, I suppose it's better. Really just get it for the free Pontiff's Eye buffs.

You need better farming gears to increase your item discovery.
Crystal Sage Rapier offhand.
Symbol of Avarice on your head.
Gold Serpent Ring ( +3)
And also use rusted coins for every run.

Can't you just spawn them?

If you don't mind being banned, yes.

your item discovery should be like 500 or higher...

So with this answer, i'm gonna guess there's no other way than this or pvp. Thank you though, i'll keep this loadout in mind.

the symbol of avarice will add +200 item discovery, GSR+3 adds another 125, CSR and Rusted Coins add 50 each, and you get roughly 1 additonal discovery point per point of luck.
over all, assuming you use 2 crystal sage rapiers you can have a reliable item discovery of 675, but that ofcourse is assuming 99 luck, coins are always activated, the symbol of avarice and Gold Serpent Ring are on and you have two Crystal sage rapiers, drop all the luck and its 575, drop a rapier and its 525, and 525 is not so unreasonable.

for the most part, covenant items seem to have a drop rate of 1%, so 500 item discovery will boost this to 5%, still if you can actually get 675 item discovery going for you go for it, just make sure you can make use of the crystal sages rapier effectively while trying to farm them

What the previous guys said. With Symbol of Avarice, Crystal Sage Rapier, Golden Serpent Ring and Rusted Coin it took me about 2 hours to farm 30 Swordgrass with about 457 discovery ratio. It's not that bad if you think that it will prolly take more to farm them in PVP.

The obscuring ring is a great PVP item as well, both offensively and defensively.

It makes you invisible to hostile players until you get into lockon range.

Look at it this way; Farming the items is good practice against these enemies and you also get souls along the way. Farming items from NPC's is far more reliable than through covenant summons/invasions (in my opinion) Then again, you may get summoned in to a fight club (because people are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and rock Way of Blue while hosting fight clubs) and you can sit there and soak up covenant items (it will just be boring, sitting there) Darkmoon summons will, more often than not, result in landing in a fight club in Anor Londo. (caution, do not interfere with the fight club in any way, or they will get upset and dog-pile you.)

Some "good" places to farm;
~ Carthus Catacombs killing Carthus Ninja Skellies for Shackles
~ The area prior to the Abyss Watchers fight is a treasure trove of covenant items (and you don't even have to lift a finger!) Dark Wraiths will drop Tongues while Goats will drop Swordgrass
~ Anor Londo for Darkmoon ears and Human Dregs

After a few runs through the areas, one should be able to develop a path that they feel is comfortable and efficient.

While running through the areas, try out various routes and see what the environment has to offer; Get to really know these areas of the game, it will make future attempts that much easier. You may, also, find some hidden stuff you had not known about, prior.

Unless you are desperate, I would advise against using the Symbol of Avarice, just because of the HP burn.
The difference between the +2 and +3 CGSR is only an item find of 15 (so you do not have to stress about getting the +3 version, if you do not have the Ringed City DLC)
"Covetous Gold Serpent Ring Effect

Increases Item Discovery +50
+1 Version (NG+): +75
+2 Version (NG++): +100
+3 Version (The Ringed City): +115
Weight: 1.2"

Shackles aren't hard to get imo.
Just invade (purple signs will get ignored or spawnkilled far more often than actually used), sit back, and be opportunistic.

You get shackles from killing anyone, and just like with the other invader covenants, you still get one if the host dies on their own.

Only downside is that, unlike with tongues where you can theoretically keep getting more endlessly so long as the host is alive, you're limited to 1 shackle per invasion or summon. Though that has saved me from getting ganked, as it's an automatic escape once you kill someone.

Then why bother?

Serious question. It's so weird how so many people will grind for things nobody else cares about.

Because I care? Because I want those items? What kind of question even is this.
