How to get to Irithyll Kitchen without going through Distant Manor ?
I'm at the part where I want to send Greirat to pillage Irithyll. I was told long ago that going to Distant Manor and/or lighting that bonfire could screw up the quest.

I am now near the distant manor, but I can't see any way to get to the bottom without going through the Manor itself. I can't go through the Irithyll dungeon as it will also screw up the quest.

I did this successfully once but I forget how to get to the kitchen. I just want to make sure Siegward is there before I send Greirat on a pillage.

Lighting the bonfire is fine, you just can't enter the dungeon.

Oh really ? Are you doubly sure about that ?

It's just that I had gotten explicit instructions to avoid that area and bonfire before.

if you are near Distant Manor bonfire, then you just passed the turn through the shallow lake into the sewers that leads up into this Irithyll Kitchen you speak of.... you mean the Kitchen with the Estus Soup in it, right? :)

You don't even have to pass the Distant Manor bonfire in order to get to the Irithyll Kitchen.

Yeah, the one where Siegward is supposed to be once you save him from the Well.

I can't seem to find the passage you speak of. I am right where the 3 knights are in a circular shaped structure and where you find the Lightning Gem.

100s of playthroughs: distant manor has caused me no issues, same with irithyll dungeon. I also skip Siegward when I seem him in the kitchen to make sure he saves Greirat.

Hmm, a lot of people said going through the dungeon breaks the quest. I only want to check the kitchen just to make sure. I don't plan on talking to him.

I think it's a common misconception with talking to Siegward. My guess is that if you reload the area and move Siegward after talking to him, there's a chance the game will glitch out and Siegward won't save Greirat because of it. I haven't experimented with it much, but that is what seemed to happen to me before, so I just ignore him until later.

But in that video he starts from the area I am trying to avoid lol.

Is there no way to the Kitchen other than through the Manor ?

Have you saved him from the well at Cathedral of the Deep?

You don't have to go to the Distant Manor to go to the kitchen, it's just a resting spot close by. However, it doesn't matter.

the water.... watch the video and he is backtracking to get back to the shallow water. you can get to this water area before ever going to Distant Manor bonfire

Interesting. I'm just a little hesitant to go through the Manor. I don't want to risk losing Greirat.
