It sounds like for your play style it may be hard to beat, have you tried morning star yet?
About Zwei, it have better stats, reach and hyper armor, but much slower. So you need to be more cautious with it.
Morning star, as well as mace, is very different here. It is faster, more reliable, and it's weapon art allows you literally tank through most of the attacks. It is useful to finish off bosses and groups of enemies fast, instead of dodging and waiting for good moment to attack
Does Zwei have hyper armor while attacking, not just with arts?
I like big weapons with good damage output, but not too slow ones. Let's say balanced. I also like weapons like the Mace of DS remastered (the one of this game I haven't tried it), which has an excellent damage output considering its speed.
Consider it your "default" greatsword, sure it may not have a unique advantage BUT it also doesnt have any drawbacks.
I personally liked Gaels GS, the Flamberge, the Partizan, the Lucerne (Its really surprising on 1v1), the Hollowslayer GS, the Ringed Knight Straight Sword (Mostly because of the cool Weapon art ) and recently discovered that the axe (the one that you start with as a pyromancer) is also a nice off-weapon choice.
What I mean is that I want from a weapon authenticity. I dont a weapon to just swing lamely and do damage. I want that weapon to either poke right through armor or make the ground shake
