Why are dexterity builds frowned upon?

It's a meme from the Giantdad video by OnlyAfro. Basically leveling DEX or associating yourself with it labels you as gay, which is why people don't tell others that they leveled that up.

Wrong.

Most of the dex builds use fast, easy to use weapons. R1 spam and win while str build will use slow weapon giving You easier time to dodge/parry(You could parry 2h r1's in Ds1).

On top of that slower weapons are easier to backstab. If someone was r1 spamming something like falchion You will not bs him/her.

Dex. builds are frowned upon? What? Unless you are some twitch kiddo or some youtube hero, nobody cares. Play or spec what you want and do not be ashamed of it. Dex has some good weapons.

Maybe its the amount of people abusing katans or piercing weapons to run at you in pvp and just spam the lag stab... but even then, who cares, its dark souls pvp... frowned upon? really?
