PC - Xbox One S Controller Bluetooth issues

I recently bought both Dark Souls 3 and a controller to go with it, but I've been having some issues.
I had no issues pairing up my Xbox One S controller to windows via bluetooth, but when I'm playing DS3, suddenly the controller stops working. No button responds and it's only when I ALT+TAB out and back into the game that the controller will respond once again. It happens very very often.
I've tried updating the driver but it still didn't change anything.
Any tips regarding what I should do?

I never had luck with BT. Mine did the same so I just plugged it and gave up.
Someone told me the Bluetooth signal gets interrupted

thats why you buy a wired controller and nothing to fancy ;)

The best is the elite connected with the xbox stick. Never had connection issues and it‘s also wireless.

I have this in general with my XB One controller so it's not an issue specific to DS3. Sometimes it works perfectly fine for hours, other times it wants to lose connection every five minutes. I mostly wind up just connecting it with USB.

Then it‘s your pc or your controller. Before i bought the elite i also had the normal one and i never lost the connection.

you're using the wireless adapter stick though.
