You're not alone. I remember once I just couldn't play for 30 mins (or more) because everytime the game tryed to connect me to a chinese which of course failed.
And there was a sale recently.
As far as experience go I can't connect to chinese people, their connection somehow manages to be so bad the game simply won't let me. Not that I never played without lag with a chinese player, it happens, but for the most part? Too laggy, yet I can connect to US players for example and play normally (though it'll lag more than usual, it's not enough to be problematic).
No that's accurate, which is both good and bad, good because it allows the player to connect to more people, bad because it makes you connect to people from gods know where who will often lag because of the distance.
