Hawkwood won't leave his summon sign

I'm trying to kill the Oceiros, and i heard Hawkwood leaves his summon sign near his room but he doesn't leave his sign. I killed every boss before Oceiros and exhausted Hawkwood's lines and he left the Firelink Shrine. But his summon sigh does not appear. Why?

Did he gave you the Farron Ring and did you defeat the crystall sage?

Did you get his shield outside firelink shrine or from the blacksmith?

You mean Hawkwood's shield? i didn't picked that up

its outside firelink shrine maybe that gets him to spawn
