Seed of the Giant Tree doesn't work?
I've used them 3 or 4 times in the past in specific circumstances, but in the latest instance I had a protracted battle with an invader drag out for a really long time before I got too low, and booked it. I then used a seed, and joined up with the blade who was summoned. I popped the seed, and as he ran past the heralds away from us, I noticed they didn't chase after him or target him. Same with the ringed knights.

From my understanding its supposed to get the mobs to aggro the invader too, but I didn't see that happening.

Is there a hack people are using? I've noticed some bizarre things with invaders lately, either having too many estus, or lag-walking around your attacks (happened in a fight in Ariandel).

If a mob is already aggrod on someone, it will not immediately retarget an invader, it will stay on the thing that it locked onto last, so as long as the invader dosen't go through an area first, and dosen't hit anything, they can bypass the seed untill the automatic deagrro happens, which for the ringed city enemies is pretty long. Also if he used alluring skulls, they work just fine for seeded invaders.

Don't forget that the seed only lasts like 30 or 45 seconds as opposed to the originally coded 4 hours, aka virtually permanent.

But yeah as Chimera said, they don't immediately change aggro away, since the seed doesn't make invaders have priority over you in AI sights, they just open them to being targeted.

Seeds do not Shift argo, if a mob is already paying attention to a target it will not all of a sudden go for the red. If an enemy is in an unargo state and a seed is used they will target the red as it is the nearest target.

Also heralds are a strange enemy to begin with because they are what is known as neutral, meaning in the regular state they dont target invaders but can still hit them with attacks. same goes for grave wardens.

I know it doesn't shift aggro, that's not what I'm talking about.

I popped a seed from above on a cliff and I watched the invader walk through 3 harald legion immediately after I popped the seed and they did NOTHING.

Probably desync then and the invader was across the world from you

maybe. its very weird.

I know it works normally though, I killed an invader with it to a judicator because he plopped his rear down right in front of him and refused to move. lmao.
