High AR Fast Attacks
I really need a high AR fast attacking weapon. I need atleast (if possible) 500AR or more. Not looking for greatswords or any other heavy, tanky weapons. I'm looking for something like... a katana. Please help.

i think you are looking for a straight sword. The sunlight straight sword on a faith build using its own WA buff and a weaponbuff can go high in AR. Something between 600-700 AR should be easy to achieve with it. Ofc you can use additional dmg boosting rings on top of it.

If you want super insane DPS then go for sharp sellswords with either darkmoon blade or lightning blade buff. Or if you don't want a huge ton of faith levels, then go for like 75 dex and use lightning bundles. It destroys bosses and anything else.
HA. You're funny. Fast weapons are specifically built to do at max 380 ish AR. They hit often, so the DPS will be higher then a slow weapon. You want big damage numbers over 500? Get a great club.

Actually, a heavy or dark infused exile CGS would be better if he wants big numbers. 740 AR on a dark infused weapon is no joke.

Edit: Though I do think the Greatclub is a great and really fun weapon. I really should use it more.

Oh god don't remind me. I'm getting flashbacks to when people would DS2 this game and use the buff glitch and get dark blade on a dark exile. Close to oneshot damage on a mid level charachter.

So glad I never had to deal with that. Though it's a good thing no-one really seems to know how to do the Onyx Blade buff glitch, so no chaos infused Exile with the onyx blade buff. Because 880 AR is definitely something you don't wanna face.

Thank you all for your responses. I'll try out the sunlight striaght sword: I'll made it +10. I'm on NG+3 and what is the reccomended faith and other stats to achieve 600-700 AR? Does the sword it self do 400+? Also another question, what is the difference between D strength/dexterity/intelligence/faith and A/S strength/dexterity...?

I'll also want to say if 500 is too high(probably is), mabye 350+ can be good too.

My dark/chaos Lothric ugs at 50 50 is just shy of 1,000 ar if I use oath of sunlight. You could probably pull off similar damage at 40 40 because diminishing returns are after 40 40 I think.

The letters for scaling is how much bonus damage that weapon gets for the corresponding stats. The order of worst to best is: E, D, C, B, A and then S.

And 500 isn't too high, but it is too high if you just want pure physical damage on a small weapon. And something like 350-400 is pretty damn amazing for dual wield weapons, such as the sellswords.

And without buffs the sword will probably deal about 400 or so AR, which isn't bad for a straight sword. Unfortunately I think the weapon has poor dex and strength scaling, so you'd need high of either to get any significant AR increase.

Also not sure, but power within might stack with the weapon buff, so you can reach 800 AR.

Power within must be cast after Oath of Sunlight I think but they are stackable.

I've currently made a discovery on katanas. Upgrading the Black Blade to +10 deals 339 damage with a Sharp Gem. It's almost my liking but the stamina consumpstion is heavy.

Infusing a weapon with dark takes off all scaling which isnt good. I've also seen a youtube video where someone infuses his Longsword (a normal one) with Dark (deep) and achieves 501 damage. But when I try to infuse my weapon with deep, all scaling is gone. Did From Software like remove this? The base damage he shows is the normal damage with weapon, no buff, nothing. I'll go back in-game in a bit and try this out my self.

Pause a 0:25 and it shows.

You must be using a deep gem while they're using a dark gem. Deep and fire infusions are the elemental versions of the raw gem. Boost the base AR but remove scaling. Dark and chaos infusions lower scaling and base damage, but add dark/fire AR that scales with int and faith.

sharp lothric straight sword with around 50 dex you get +420 AR, a beast at PvP

I've got 601 AR on my Dark infused Lothric Straight Sword at 59 STR 60 DEX 50 INT 50 FTH... yep, it's not a meta-level character.

It even goes to 456 AR if you go for 75 dex. Dex builds are pretty damn strong, since scaling is effective even at 80 dex, unlike strength where going past 66 is generally pointless.
