Why do people say Dark Souls is anime?

Where are the annoying ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ characters? Where is the fan service for 30 year old virgins? Where is the over dramatic acting for literally anything? I really don't see anime in this.
PS: sorry if I pissed off some anime fans. Enjoy whatever you like, I don't judge. I just don't like the culture and I don't want to get associated with it by playing dark souls.

You gotta admit that Artorias' sword and the majestic greatsword of DS 1 and 2 are pretty anime. There's probably some others as well, but yeah, DS 3 is the most anime of the lot.

I feel you. There is a small group of posters here who come to post the dumbest questions, like this OP. They post things like why is this called white and not black, why is this game worse than my favourete anime manga you name them game, and etc etc
