Are Straight Swords OP?

ITT: Are straightswords really an admission of homosexuality or fair and balanced?

Personally I think they have totally ruined this games PvP. In DS1 and DS2 the Meta had so many options you could never run out of ways to play, whereas DS3's straightswords do so much damage and DPS for such little stamina cost and dagger-like speed that they are really your only option. There's no viable build variety anymore, just dark lothric swords and that's it. What do you think? Change my mind.

The three most used fast curved swords are viable, harpe and murky are viable, Spears do okay against SSs. Tbh straight swords suck at anything offensive, and their entire moveset can be rolled on reaction, choose something with decent aggressive options (Not hyper armor), and you do better against SSs. Though you are right they are better than alot of weapons, however, DS2 and DS1 had their own problems in terms of PvP that I don't think I need to mention.

Also the moment you go against an elemental infusion just pop a bug pellet, I'm serious with the right armor + the bug pellet you can make a dark lothric knight SS do like 100 damage per hit.

Ultras crush straight swords as well because they can hyperarmor through attacks and have more reach and range. It's just more difficult than walking up and hitting R1 4 times. Although it's HILARIOUS when they end up walking into your followthrough heavy attack.

Completely wrong. The very effective equipment is only a small part of the huge equipment pool.

LOL no. You had maybe a handful of choices compared to the rest of the non-meta weapons, if you want to be most effective and win. DS is passive reactive, so it always favoured faster weapons by design.

I've always found them easy to use, but I rarely see them in PVP.

Bruh you use the skip move on daggers that's a show of homosexuality when you start using the skip move ofcourse someome is going to use a straight sword to catch you and stop you from backstab fishing XD

I would be happy with a nerf for SSs and fast CSs. I don't fight in the arena, so I don't know how bad the Murky HS really is.

What would you nurf?

Currently I can beat a SS and CS with the great Lance. I'm not good, people jsut think those weapons are better than they are. They are 1 trick ponies. (Like most weapons, really)

Murky hand scythe is the true meta weapon, imo.

Can easily outspacing SS and CS and is faster with damamge that is not too bad and teh quickstep weapon art.
It is boring though, hence why I use other stuff
