im sure more informed players will give you the answer i was told by friends never pick up anything unless from a trusted friend

Let me put it like that: the game support warns you from picking up anything from other players. It might be a genuinely nice gesture. But it could also be a ♥♥♥♥ (playing nice), who hacked them into existence which will get you banned.

they keep changing rules and bans more often and longer from comments on forum fair/unfair bans some say now are permanant others i hear un banned after 3 to 6 months

i once got 99 souls of great champions from a guy. Nothing happend to me since he got those souls from duping them so no cheat engine was used to get them. Might be the case for you aswell.

Also one hacker once told me that recieving hacked items is fine in most cases as long as they are no key items, crafting materials, estus items, covenant items, the storm ruler, a gesture, boss souls or a weapon/armorpiece/item with altered stats. All of this aligns with a reddit post i once bookmarked.

Since he gave you 99 of each item i would assume he just got them from duping. Also the items he gave you are pretty normal items ppl like to duplicate.

edit: if you still have him in your recent players list you can just add him and ask him how he got them. Did the same thing with the guy who gave me the stuff i mentioned above.

Thank you miep, you are being very helpful! But i think i couldnt find who gave those to me since i only know their in-game character name, and there are too many of recent players.
