Why vordt's

He meant to correct you.
Not Leo's (there's a Ledo's but you can't wield that with SL30) but Vordt's Greathammer.

And i would say depends. Mace is light and has way higher dmg potential but the strong Frostbite from Vordt's can screw people with shield pretty well.

I'd say Mace because of its utility, honestly.

frost in 2 hits, perseverence works wonders against r1 spammers.

also, bleed got nerfed to hell so you can't expect bleed that often unless you're using a bleed spiked mace.-> less raw damage

Ledo's requires 50 str. 34 while two handing. you'll suffer from 10 ish vig with that much investment in strength, not to mention that it's one of the heaviest weapons in game. thus requiring tons of vitality.

Right I was thinking it was to much STR to put in to the weapon at that sl

Heavy Spiked mace Can be buffed with carthus rouge to increase the bleed proc it already has a bit. L:ess investment than vordt's, and does not have the op lowl evel frost, but you can buff it with other things. Vordt's is basically the best though.

You cant have a functioning SL30 build with Ledo's great hammer. Too damn heavy and insane strength requirement. If you absolutely must use a great hammer, then either use a Heavy Great Club or Vordt's. Vordt's perseverance and frostbite are useful, but I prefer Great Club. Its a roll catch machine and a properly timed R1 R1 R2 combo can often one shot phantoms. Also weighs less and can be buffed.

Actually a Heavy Spiked Mace is pretty good. Put Rouge on it and its wombo combo bleeds most people instantly. At this upgrade level it provides not only more damage than the Blood infusion (obviously) but also more bleed buildup. Infact the damage is high enough to kill many people at that level with that single combo.
Whether it's better or worse the Vordt's is honestly pretty arguably because you need so little investment for the Spiked Mace. 14 Str, 13 Dex (that's two levels as a Knight for reference, although the Warrior is overall probably the better starting class and the Warrior doesn't have to spend more levels to 2h Vordt's than to 2h the Spiked Mace), period. Plus it's a tad lighter.
