Truthfully, I don't think there are any tryhard weapons. Only tryhard players that think a weapon can make up for their lack of skill.
The most try hard weapon today is the pontiff knight curved sword (pkcs). You only need 26/40 str/dex to get the most out of it, seems to be the fastest of the curved swords, and the damage is pretty decent.
However, it's not a crutch. If you, as a noob, try to use it in PvP, you'll probably be destroyed as much as you would with any other weapon. I recommend learning how to use basic weapons and techniques first, like any weapon you find enjoyable and proper spacing.
EDIT: oh yeah, the pkcs and the murky hand scythe are tied imo.
