Knight’s Crossbow +10 = 280 dmg
Arbalest +10 = 273 dmg
Heavy Crossbow +10 = 252 dmg
Light Crossbow +10 = 224 dmg
Longbow +10 = 184 dmg
Composite Bow +10 = 175 dmg
Short Bow +10 = 173 dmg
If I were you I will take Knight’s Crossbow cause low requirements (12/8) and no-scaling which means you can use it with meny builds with the same results.
Yeah i saw that too, yet 273 pure physical damage is way more than 280 split damage...
And at 19/15 the Dragonrider bow does 253, which seems decent... so I'm stuck between Dragonrider Bow or Arbalest :/
Weight is quite similar, Arrows are cheaper, yet Titanite Scales are more scarce...
how much do they differ in range/speed/endurance consumption?
Edit: You can also wait to shoot your shot.
If you're fine with a bit less damage then I'd recommend the heavy crossbow. A good bit lighter and requires 14 strength rather than the 18 for arbalest. Problem is you'd have to farm for it.
And yeah, medium bows are pretty bad besides luring enemies or just picking at them from long range. Doubt they'd ever really work in PvP unless you're fighting an AFK player. Exploding bolt crossbows for life.
