I still struggle with these guys almost 70 hours in. The best advice i can give you is to strafe left around them and dodge into them, not away. That way you have the potential to get a backstab off if you're quick enough. They're also pretty easy to parry if you're good at that (I'm not).

just wait till you get to that filure of enemy masses called ashes of ariendel godamn corvian knights doing constant aoe 360 slashes and have insane reach and speed

If you are getting hit you are already going about it the wrong way. Etheir practice parrying them or work on your rolling to get behind them for a backstab.

just relax and learn their patter of attacks.shield and sword are offensive (use stance weapon art) but spear and greatshield are defensive (use kicks)

anyway, roll to their shield side when they attack. try not to walk circles around them as they tend to shield bash or do quick attacks. and also, keep somewhat close.

They can definitely be a pain. They and the katana guy near the shrine are great teachers... it’s worthdying to them a few (or more than a few) times to figure out parrying and invincibility frames when rolling, etc

They went from hard, to easy farming, to not worth it any more in two days played for me. I don't want to boast, I mean it's all in the practicing.

Sorry accualy, I was pretty raged and I maked a lot of mistakes so they was really, really OP for me. It was like one shot kill. So I needed to start new game. Accualy thank's for some of good tips.

What annoys me most is how they seem to have infinite stamina and never stop attacking. You pretty much have to parry/backstab or trick them somehow.
