OP, use it as practice. it's not like you're fighting alone, you have a friend at your side. Take it as the learning experience that it should be.
Unless it's nothing but twinks invading you, then I'm sorry. That part of the community is ♥♥♥♥♥♥' awful
Just had a 30 minute invasion with my easy-to-kill red running from me to every single enemy through the entire Grand Archive.
I left my only summon to fight him,ran all the way to the 3 NPC Gank Elevator and got 2 blues while at it.
When he finally decided to ascend using the elevator he got immediately murdered by 3 weapon arts and a small loan of million R1's.
I dont feel bad at all.
1) do not upgrade your weapon till sl 50 then keep upgrade level much lower than average for your level. This way you will only get invaded at a couple of first areas that you can simply solo.
2) start sl 1 and upgrade your weapon firs to +4 before start leveling. Do not go beyond sl50 wep+10. This way you will likely only get invaded (if at all) at High-Wall by a few who actually do it with sl 1 chars.
3) use red sign. red can not help with fighting aside from few seed usages but he can guide around and show things.
Using a overlevel character to help your newbie friend is not ok, you break the balance of the game.
Invasions are there to stop you from ruining the pve experience of your friend...
Every time we try to coop and progress in the game together, we get invaded. That in itself is not an issues. What IS AN ISSUE is that these invaders are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupidly overequipped and throw things at us we barely can counter while playing 2v1.
yeah i know, git gud and so on (i played both ds1 and ds2), but the amount of overequipped guys invading you is overwhelming. there was only ONE invader to date that had "ordinary" equipment and we could beat him. all the other once either tank a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of dmg, heal up in no time and deal out tons of damage or play like annoying ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, running around and using their environmental advantage to its fullest (you have only so much access to seeds of the giant).
on top of that. connection is an issue too. you hit him clearly, yet he gets not damaged nor staggered. he swings at you and you dodge successfully to suddenly be damaged behind him? this is with cross region mm off btw...
This game is meant to be hard even at co-op. Doesn't have to do anything with the toxic community. Before playing co-op ask your friend to complete the game in offline mode. There's no shortcut to that if you don't want invaders. After the 1st run invasions will actually become fun. Except the invaders who just go and hide behind enemies and cheese you through the entire level.
Well yeah, what do you expect?
You would be surprised the amount of twink hosts and overlevel phantoms that are at low levels.
