Hollow infusion=more damage on each hit but less build up and damage when it procs.
Proccing poison is easy on Ghru Dagger, but bleed is a bit harder.
Hollow is not useless, because you can spend more stats on other things, and infuse your shield + weapon hollow, gaining +5 luck for each one. Hollow weapons can also be buffed with the rouge. So they give you more damage per hit too.
But blood gems are the way to go for pure bleed, no buffing. However you are looking at lesser damage and you will have to depend on that bleed proc.
Try frost .
Infuse hollow, level luck, add Carthus Rouge.
The difference in proc. is what changes, and you should focus on what you do best with, as your choices are
Moderate attk dmg with moderate bleed proc
Lower attk dmg with higher bleed proc
Both are very viable, but depends on your strats, how you expect to lay out dmg, how you go about it and most importantly, does it feel good?
I was running hollow for the longest time then after the patch I switched to bleed. My personal view atm is if I want a straight bleed build, I'll go blood infused. Otherwise if I'm a dex build, I'd hollow some weapon for the xtra luck and proc bonus, then carthus rouge and focus on my dex strats, while I apply some bleed as a bonus
Swap between the two as necessary.
