Why won't Seigward appear???

I went through all the steps and I saved him in the cell I unlocked the cell he gave me the slab and I exhausted the chat. I went back to the bonfire and went to fight Yhorm and when I went into the fight he didn't appear???

What are "all the steps" you took? Maybe you did miss one?

I believe if you miss him in Irithyll by the estus soup he does not join you for the Yhorm fight.

No I did talk to him in the kitchen and drank the soup. I think that it's because I lit the Distant Manor bonfire before talking to him. I didn't sit and rest which is why maybe he was still their but I did all the steps correctly including talk to him but he didn't show up at the fight :(

I was actually unaware of that, usually I just go talk to him first to get it out of the way.

The only way Siegward shows up for me, is with the following steps. If I even change one step, he doesn't show up, and remains in the Profaned Capital cell unwilling to join me in Yhorm's battle:

1. Rescue Greirat
2. Speak to Siegward for the first time on the lift
3. Help him kill the fire demon
4. Go to the chapel and throw him his armor down the well
5. Send Greirat to loot Irithyll (don’t enter the dungeons till he returns)
6. Don’t talk to Siegward in Irithyll's kitchen until you defeat Pontiff
7. Go to the Shrine and Greirat should have returned
8. It's now safe to talk to Siegward in Irithyll's kitchen
9. Enter the dungeons and rescue Siegward from the Profaned Capital
10. Rescue Karla from the dungeons (I didn't save her once -forgot about her- and Siegward didn't show up)
11. Siegward will now help you defeat Yhorm

ya I did another playthrough and did everything I did before the same except I talked to siegward then beat pontiff before I lit the Distant Manor bonfire
