Great Chaos Fire Orb or Chaos Bed Vestiges
Which is better for which situation? I can't make up my mind.

Vestiges is better for PvP, because of suck ass hitboxes. Orb is fine, but easier to dodge

Fire orb is more useful. Hitting people with vestiges in pvp is just for lulz. Neither is really that great for pvp to be frank.

Yeah, pyromancer in general isn't that good for pvp, sadly.
Fire orb has more overall damage, but it's slower in speed and the casting animation is also slower and it's damage separated between the initial explosion and the lava, making it really hard to land both at the same time, you'll mostly end up only landing one of either of them.

Chaos bed is faster, has a bigger hitbox and deals more damage with a direct impact.

It's also worth mentioning that the fire orb is better when free aimed and for lava chip damage, and it does better in smaller tighter spaces where the enemy doesen't have a lot of space to roll away from the explosion, since it is slower, the hitbox seems to linger for a little while so you can sometimes mess up with people's dodge timings by aiming behind them or at their feet or just predicting where they're going to roll. On the contrary, chaos bed is not good at that, since it is very fast the dodge timing is more or less the same regardless of where you aim it, but it has better chances of catching the opponent off guard or stuck in some animation frames where they can't roll.

Overall I think chaos bed vestiges is better because it's damage and hitbox are a lot more reliable than the chaos orb, and also because it's less dependant on terrain, I'd go as far as to say that chaos fire orb is near useless when fighting people in open areas like the pontiff balcony or just anywhere in the hollow arena except the dragon ruins.

Additionally CBV is thrown horizontally while fire orb goes in arc. As a result you need to keep in mind terrain when using CBV.

Both are super easy to dodge, you're only going to hit anyone with it by free aiming or baiting...or fighting someone in a coma.
Pyromancies, in general, are quite easy to dodge... but with that being said, if Chaos Bed Vestiges actually lands, it takes about 60%-70% of your health pool away.

if an enemy changes position every 1-2 sec, use vestiges

Sadly yes, most of the time landing a spell relies more on luck rather than skill or baitng or how fast you can switch your spells.

In the end, against somebody who tries hard enough, the only spells that are worth using will be lightning arrow, homing soulmass, farron flashsword, fire surge, black flame and probably the deep soul and soul dregs. every other form of magic can be easily dodged by just keeping some distance, sidestepping or just running away from the spell until it fades away.

Orb for general use. Bed for fast enemies that run out of Orb's puddle. Bed for PvP aswell.
