why you can t use purging stone sometimes

i really want to know

Purging stone just resets hollowing to 0. So it doesn't do anything if you're humon or have 0 hollowing I believe.

Either you're in coop with a phantom/invader or don't have any hollowing to heal.

Purging stones can only be used if you are hollowed.
To get hollowed (at least partially) you must:
- make friends with turtle-man
- level up with turtle man (and receive a dark sign in your inventory)
- die (death adds hollowing to your character while you have dark signs)

Purging Stones termporarily cure hollowing, as if - they remove it back to 0 until you die again.
They can also heal curse build-up, apparently, but they can ONLY be used if you are hollowed.

Hence, if you are not hollowed (and cant even become one if you never leveled up with turtle man / healed the dark sign with help of firekeeper's soul) - you literally can NEVER use purging stones. They are literally just loot for money from that point.

my hollowing that 16 curently im in great belfry name less king is alive im alone and i cant use it why?

Hmmmmmm. Are you in dragon's form by any chance? Or... I dont know. Might be a bug.

no im not and that isnt just here its happen in couple places dlc and normal game

Also doesn't actual visual hollowing only set in at 18? Might be confusing something.

my mistake but still it should work on any level of hollowing
