Maybe they just put it as an homage, like overwatch did when putting a bonfire in one of their maps.
Whether the game is good or bad, there is no reason to deny it the right to make homages to other games.

PHEW CALM DOWN FOLKS. I just checked all the three games and can confirm that Praise The Sun Gesture wasn't stolen, it remains and can be performed in all of the Dark Souls Series games. OP is a liar.

Fortnite, is just a fun game. No need to get angry over it. It gets repetive and boring fast, but it's fun is in the duos and solo gameplay. Also it is just paying homage to From Soft's legendary series. Unless Bandai Namco says they can't use it, it is fine. If it is a direct copy of the praise the sun emote. Then there is problems.

Bandai Namco is most likely going to demand they remove it or file for a trademark violation. Since the emote is heavily associated with Dark Souls.
