Can't light bonfire after defeating Soul of Cinder

So I beat Soul of Cinder and got a cutscene but it won't allow me to light the bonfire in that area....I went back to the Firelink Shrine and the firekeeper keeps saying I still need to link the first fire.....am I missing something here???

just means you chose not to start ng + whatever, right away. Just sit at the firelink shrine bonfire. You'll have the option of beginning journey #?

yes but I don't understand how starting ng+ ends the game and links the first fire...seems strange but ok

By killing SoC you've finished all the game has to offer you in terms of plotwise progression. Now you can just camp around your dead world however long you like till you get sick of it and decide to go for a new cycle.

NG+ resets the game back to the start, but you keep all of your items, levels and covenant progress (though any keys get removed). Enemies will be more difficult, and you'll gain more souls for killing them. Some improved +1 versions of rings can be found in the world.

well I transfered all my gear in the box and now I started a new game and have nothing??? wth jeez...they don't even give you the gear you started with...would have been nice to know

The stuff you put in the box is saved with the character that put it in it. You cant put a +10 weapon in it then pull it out of the box on a new character.

oh, its because you cant access the storage box yet. Beat gundry then head to firelink. Then you can access your storage box.

But if you really did put all your stuff in the storage box before ng+ then you have to kill gundry fist only. Dont worry, its not that hard. Parry him 27 times, then fist him afterwords.
