Quality Claymore Build, any tips?

Hey, I’m trying to do a bunch of leveling and am trying to go for a quality build to go with my +5 Claymore, any tips for how to build it? What stats should I level and how far? Also, what about equipment? Thanks for the help.

Find a way to buff your Claymore with lightning/fire. Carthus Flame Arc/Lightning Blade for that. Then, make sure your str and dex are about equal and at 30+. Use whatever armor you'd like from there, since it hardly matters.

Also, your Claymore is refined, yes? That's essential for any quality build.

if you're always two handing your claymore go for 27 STR and 40 Dex as 2handing gives you the extra points to bump it to 40.

Yes, the Claymore is refined, and I’m really trying to go for something that has decent poise but low enough weight for where I don’t have the fat roll.

Yes, the Claymore is refined, and I’m really trying to go for something that has decent poise but low enough weight for where I don’t have the fat roll.

Don't worry about the poise stat. I find it's more dependent on the weapon than anything else. And if you're looking to take advantage of it, it's best to use an UGS like the Greatsword or Fume UGS anyways. I suppose a Claymore would let you trade blows with someone using a straight sword/dagger/katana, but that's really it for poise.

Plus if they want to poise through anything more they could use the weaponart R2.

if you wanna build around the claymore a strength build is better than a quality build. You get more AR from a 66/13 str/dex build heavy infused compared to a 40/40 str/dex build refined infused. You could go 66/13 str/dex heavy and put 15 points in faith for a blessed buff.

Unfortunately, yes. From made my favorite weapon classes, GS and UGS, worthless in this game.

What are you talking about? I use the Greatsword all the time in PvE and PvP. I get kills aplenty in PvP, and PvE isn't too hard with it either. In fact, there are plenty of people who refer to GS/UGS as easy mode weapons. For every person who thinks heavy weapons suck in DS3, there's another who claims they're stupidly good. I guess that means From did a good job balancing them this time around.
