XBox to PC
My mate has ds3 on XBox and is getting a pc soon
Can he get the game on Microsoft store on his pc then play with me whilst im on steam?

on PC the game is avail only via Steam.

Oh... apparently you can play the XBox games on pc via some XBox service, but ok

That is possible for 'XBox Play Anywhere' titles from (mostly) Microsoft. FROM software titles like the Dark Souls series don't belong to that list (for now?).

Right now Steam is your only option on PC.

Thank you for the reply; my friend is converting to pc from xbox (woo hoo)
But he is buying a pc that can run arma (aka EXPENSIVE)
so on top of that he now has to purchase dark souls again :(
