FUGS and Leo Ring
I see a lot of people mention the Leo ring with FUGS. Why are they convinced it will work? Although the R2 is a thrust move, the only damage listed on the weapon is "strike," which says to me that it should not be affected by the Leo ring for counter damage. Am I wrong?

The thrust move itself should still be affected by the leo ring. The LKGS works that way.

It does strike damage on the thrusts, so leo ring is useless for fume.

Haven't tried it myself, but I don't think the description for fugs reads thrust anyway. I use leo with rapiers and bows, but it still has to be a counter hit for the ring to add more dmg

I've used the fume a decent bit and the leo ring never added any damage. ,0,

Fume ONLY does strike damage. Movesets don't define damage type in this game. For comparison, the Cathedral Knight Sword, which also does strike damage, is listed as also dealing thrust damage, which the two handed r2 deals.

daily reminder that the rolling attack on the Astora Greatsword was considered thrusting damage and unparriable so leo ring users would abuse it.
That's not to say the R2 on the FUGS doesn't do thrust or does.

I thought Astora r1 was strike, since it falls vertically. Anyhow, to me it's a bit wasted to use on weapons that have maybe 1-2 thrust attacks tbh, I'd prefer to sport an untrue at that point cause fashion>all

That's why I always rush YOEL, get the dark hand, and pay to get rid of hollowing before level 20. Or ignore that whole questline, since it's pretty pointless unless you're doing a bleed build or need that ending.

Astora Greatsword's R1 is vertical? Since when?

Since both me and Vinyl were actually talking about the rolling r1, which I totally didn't type up there :)

It's been vertical since I've been using it but I have heard of people saying it was a thrust before I even had the game, so they probably changed it.

Astora was bugged for most of game life, being a thrust and unparryable. Supposedly fixed now.

it is.
I've been waiting a while to use this lame joke, but I've never used the FUGS because it's so fugly. I don't ever see it except in the hands of Tsorig, does it have any merit beyond being the undisputed ugliest weapon in DS3?
